Order Packing Supplies in Advance
Starting to pack early will make your life much easier. The best way to do that is to order packing supplies in advance. Contact Alpha Moving and Storage a few weeks prior to your move and ask about our packing and box-delivery services.
Choose Your Mover Early
Waiting till the last minute to choose your mover will leave you little time for all the final necessary arrangements. Try to make your final moving decisions at least three to four weeks in advance.
Clearly Label and Number all Boxes
Labeling is something that can save you a lot of time and money. Every box should be properly labeled. The label should mention the contents and the designated room. Clearly mark boxes with fragile content as such.
Let the Movers Handle Electronics and Fragile Items
Even if you decide to do the packing yourself, it is recommended to let the mover handle electronics and delicate items. Professional movers have the experience, knowledge and materials to properly pack and handle items such as televisions, computers, glass and marble tops and so on.
Inform Your Mover of any Changes
If you decide to leave a few items behind, purchase some new items or require additional packing services, let your moving and relocation company know about it in advance. Also, if you have any parking or access difficulties, make sure the relocation company is aware of them.
Take the Day Off
On the moving day, take the day off and spend it with the movers. Even if you’re very busy at work, it is very important that you yourself will be there with the mover to make sure everything goes smoothly and the communication is direct and efficient.
