Since long distance movers charge by weight or space, you must know what basic charge unit they will be using for your move. If, for example, one company charges you fifty cents per pound and another charges you sixty, then the second company will always be the more expensive one. This will be true, even if the second company has given you a lower estimate. They’ve merely reduced the amount of weight on the estimate to make it appear less expensive.
Comparing Terms and Conditions
All the extra fees should be mentioned in the estimate itself. Take your time and read all the “fine print”. Make sure that you understand whether or not your quote includes packing services. If you require packing services and those are not mentioned on the estimate, be sure to check with your relocation consultant whether or not they are included in the price.
