Planning a move involves making many decisions. By the time you need to make your decision about the moving company you should choose, you may be too tired or distracted to make the right decisions. However, making a correct and educated decision when selecting your mover is crucial for the successful outcome of your relocation. This new Alpha Moving and Storage article offers a few key points for you to follow when making this important selection.

When and How to Get your Moving Estimate

Ideally, you should begin your search for movers at least four to six weeks before your actual pickup date. Starting early will allow you enough time to look for reputable movers, make thorough price comparisons and calculated decisions. If you are moving during the busy summer months, getting an estimate early is a must. Most reputable moving companies will be booked in advance.

Making Storage Decisions

If you are in need of storage services, check if your mover has its own storage facility. Make sure the mover stores your goods in its own warehouses and not in some self-storage facility. You may want to pay a visit to the mover and inspect the storage facilities for yourself. For long distance moves, check if the mover can offer you up to one month of free storage.

Updating your Mover and Preparing for your Moving Day

Ask your relocation consultant about packing charges and inquire about items that you can pack for yourself to lower the moving costs. Be sure to provide your relocation consultants timely updates regarding any inventory changes or any other fluctuations.

I completed a move last month with Alpha Movers, and was super pleased with their service. I've moved a lot in the past 6-7 years, and have used a … More handful of different moving companies, and this was for sure the easiest / smoothest move of all of them. The crew showed up and finished right on time, and were very professional and careful with my things (perhaps even more so than I would've been myself!). Their office staff was also very professional and responsive. I hope I don't have to move again soon, but in any case, I would absolutely use Alpha Movers again.

I had a great experience with Alpha Moving & Storage!
When I initially contacted, Marc was responsive and helped get an on-site estimate set up. Andrew
… More came out and took inventory of all my moving items to provide an estimate, so there would be no hidden costs. He was professional, thorough and gave great peace of mind.
Day of the move, the movers showed up on time and ready to go. They were professional and very efficient taking stock of everything and getting the move underway. The entire 1 bedroom apartment was moved out and moved in within 3.5 hours door-to-door, even with the rainy conditions.
The four movers worked super efficiently together and had a great system in place. They were professional and detailed making sure everything was placed in the desired location in the new space. Having the estimate done in advance was also very helpful as the only difference in price was to account for tax. It was nice to have no big surprises with moving costs and keep within budget.
Alpha was recommended to me by my realtor and I would also highly recommend using them for your next move!

Alpha Moving did a wonderful job helping us move into our new apartment! They quickly got multiple large pieces of furniture out of a suburban house and … More into a 4 story walk-up apartment in the city. The movers themselves were very gracious and went out of their way to help us set the furniture up and make sure everything fit into our space. Their prices and quality were unbeatable and they were very timely, communicative and prompt the day of. I would highly recommend them and will be using them again in the future!
